"In the early hours of the morning on the campus of an American college, Martha, much to her husband George’s displeasure, has invited the new professor and his wife to their home for some after-party drinks. My notes

My first thought is forget you've seen the filmed version or a tepid production from a college or amateur theatre group. This is in a much higher plane of performance. Imelda Staunton has such range that you will see her more than once in these National Theatre Live shows. Normally I don't critique or spoil the play for viewers and this will be no exception. But even as I have seen those versions mentioned above over a 40 year period ( with a community theatre production excepted) the play and performers still hold surprises.
